Scherer, J.: Three Trios for Three Flutes (Recorders)

Free

Very little is known about the life and work of German composer, Johann Scherer (or Scherrer). He was probably a member of a court orchestra, playing the flute, the viola, and mostly the oboe; but since flute music was in such high demand during the second half of the 18th century, most of the compositions by him that have survived were for the flute.

The present edition is based on Manuscript III, 25, preserved in Copenhagen: Gieddes samling, Royal Library, and is available in both the original keys (for 3 Traversi) or transposed a minor third up (for 3 recorders).
